State Assemblymembers and Other Officials Visit Sacramento BioDigester

Posted at March 31, 2014

On March 27th CleanWorld and Atlas Refuel were excited to host a contingency from the California State Capitol at the Sacramento BioDigester and Refueling Station for a tour with representatives from CalEPA, who are launching their own pilot organics/food waste diversion program, and Assemblymember Wes Chesbro, who is carrying AB 1826.

AB 1826 is a bill aimed at ensuring commercial organic waste producers in California divert their organics away from landfills and toward sustainable recycling solutions – such as CleanWorld’s Sacramento BioDigester.

Other Members on the tour included Assemblymember Eggman and Assemblymember Garcia, as well as staffers Christian Burkin, Ernesto Meza, Dawn Isbell, Katrina Robinson, Brett Willaims, Karen Bocaling, Theo Cline, Toni Gomez, Brandon Gaytan, Elizabeth MacMillan, Emily Rogers.

The BioEnergy Association of California recently was at the Capitol for the BAC Lobby Day, where members met with more than 40 legislators and their staff. 2014 is shaping up to be an important, key year for the advancement of anaerobic digestion as a major part of the exploding bioenergy industry in California. CleanWord is proud to be able to showcase how this technology is now commercial and scalable to meet the needs of recycling food waste at its source, in communities across the country.
